Importance of Good Dental Hygiene
Since childhood most of us have been taught how to brush at least twice a day, better if 3 times a day, floss, eat healthy, and regularly schedule dental appointments.
As adults with busy schedules sometimes we forget to floss or fall asleep before we brush. Well,
let’s all get on board with a consistent plan to brush, floss, eat healthy, and dental appointments. We seem to forget some of the consequences of poor dental hygiene. For instance, Gum Disease… Gum Disease is the number 1 cause of tooth loss in adults, usually with this disease we don’t feel the pain caused by it so we may not know we have it. We’ve listed below some of the warning signs that there is a problem:
- terrible breath smell and taste
- Gums that bleed easily
- Red, swollen, tender gums
- The way your teeth fit in your mouth both your own teeth or partial dentures
- Teeth that feel loose
There are also ways that Gum Disease will progress faster and some of those ways include
- Certain medications
If you are able to catch the Gum disease at a early stage (Gingivitis) there is still time to reverse it, but you have to see the dentist for professional cleaning and some steps of proper dental hygiene at home.
